Turn on a live transcript and it writes the lesson summary for you. Nothing is recorded. Pick the tier that fits your studio — add it from Settings → Billing once you’re on a plan.

Monthly limits aren’t dead ends. Unused video and post-call transcript minutes roll over 20% each month (up to 1.5× your monthly pool), and when you do run short you can top up from Settings → Billing — no plan change required:

Questions teachers actually ask
Do I need a credit card to try it?+
No. The 30-day trial starts when you sign up - no card, no commitment. If you do nothing, the trial simply ends.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from Settings → Billing in two clicks. Your studio stays readable until the end of the period you paid for, and you can export your student and invoice data.
Who counts as a teacher seat?+
Owners and instructors count toward the seat limit. Assistants (front-desk or admin helpers who manage scheduling but don’t teach) are free and unlimited on every plan.
What do AI lesson summaries cost?+
Nothing extra. Solo includes 10/month, Studio 50, Multi-Teacher 150. A summary is generated from a voice note or recording you make after a lesson.
How much are video lessons?+
Video Lessons is an optional add-on that comes in three tiers — Solo $12.99/month, Studio $24.99/month, and Multi $59/month. You teach 1:1 right in the browser with music-grade audio, an optional live transcript that writes your lesson summary, and a one-tap join link for students and parents — nothing is ever recorded. Each tier includes a pool of participant-minutes a month (1,000 / 2,500 / 7,500). Add or remove it anytime from Settings → Billing once you’re on a plan.
Can students message me and submit homework?+
Yes. Every plan includes portal messages, homework assignments, and student submissions. Teachers can attach PDFs, images, or audio files to assignments; students can submit notes and supported files back through their portal.
Are there payment processing fees?+
Card payments go through Stripe, which charges its standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ in the US). Teachstead does not add a markup. Venmo and Zelle payments you log have no fees at all.
What happens to my students’ data if I leave?+
It’s yours. Export students, lesson history, and invoices at any time. After you close your account we delete personal data per our privacy policy.
